One-time Kansas City, Missouri, School District Superintendent Anthony Amato has been fired from his new gig in Stockton, California, The Kansas City Star reports.
This isn't a surprise -- even after 14 months on the job. During his KC tenure, Amato pissed off just about everyone involved in education. Unfortunately, for all the wrong reasons; he rammed canned programs into schools without training the teachers who would administer them, and generally behaved like a fuckknob, aristocratic vapor.
Upon arriving in Stockton, Amato immediately enacted the Success For All reading program. It was the same screwed up program as here. Except in Stockton, he spent $6 million on the it -- without the state's approval. So the program got yanked with nothing to show for the $6 million price tag.
Amato's work was featured in a July 2007 issue of The Pitch: "In Amato We Trust?" It feels good to be right.

I'm Jessica Anderson, the blogger known as "Chocolate". Though the parents led many campaigns against amato, they were not alone. There were many key players who all worked seperately and together to make this happen. It was an all stakeholders affair and we all were able to talk together and let the community and nation know what heartless piece of shit this man really is.
The best part? The blog will always be there and anytime someone blogs his name they'll see it and be able to trace the things he has done to virtually dismantle a school district in 14 months. In other words, reference "googles" aren't going to work out to well for him.
It took 4.5 months of concerted, consistent and unrelentless truth telling, badgering, threatening, etc. but we somehow got through to the board.
We're not done. We've got two recalls involving board members and it could be that there are some people who were his right hands that may be leaving the district as well.
Of course, the lawsuits will start pouring in and the district, like yours, will suffer the consequences for a long time.

And the best part is that in Stockton, the parents led the campaign to fire him. Here in KC, the teachers were blamed and called uncooperative. Glad to see another district saw what an untalented arrogant jackass this man is. He did damage here that it will take years to fix.
