No one erased the address books, phone numbers and text message before selling Missouri Tigers basketball coach Mike Anderson's cell phone, and now a guy who bought 25 cell phones from MU for $190 is holding them for a $3,000 ransom, the Columbia Daily Tribune reports.
The info on the phones doesn't sound scandalous ... so far.
One
cell phone, a Sprint Treo, belonged to MU basketball Coach Mike
Anderson, according to Bellman's online inventory. Photos of the
phone's screen show text messages between Anderson and MU football
Coach Gary Pinkel and Athletics Director Mike Alden. The messages
appear to be well wishes for upcoming games and congratulations after
victories.
Mike Bellman is "auctioning" the phones off as "collector's items." The university tried to buy them back for $190. No dice. Bellman wants his $3,000.
Mizzou even offered to delete all the info off the phones. Ha. No deal. Bellman claimed the info couldn't be deleted because the phones are "damaged or because doing so requires special codes."
Or, most likely, because erasing the info would kill the resale value.

Your closing statement is libelous and threatens to publicly impugn my reputation. I am not a public figure and not subject to the same caliber of commentary reserved for public personalities.
The phones were surplussed because they were damaged and non-functional. Without certain buttons, how do you propose one perform a hard reset of this type of equipment?
Please issue an apology and retraction of that comment. It does not contribute to the discussion, is not humorous, nor does it provide provide a satirical view. It simply seeks to damage my good name and is patently false.
