The talk of building a convention hotel will only intensify with the news that Sam's Club is pulling its convention out of Kansas City. We did a slideshow of the potential sites. Today, the city released these aerial shots by HNTB of potential locations.
After the jump, the full list of potential sites from the city's release.

It would be nice for the city to actually do something with the architectural wonder that is the Power and Light building. For once, I'd like to see the city actually reburbish an existing building rather than possibly demolishing yet another part of Kansas City hisory. With the social awareness that people have about recycling and re-using, why not re-purpose. Hopefully one could re-furbish the existing building in a way that would be aesthetically pleasing, unlike the addition to the "old Post Office" building that looks like it has a prison attached.
Yeah, please don't put it at Barney Allis Plaza!!! Where will the KC Explorers play or Bums loiter?!?!
Please don't choose Barney Allis. At the moment I prefer the block with the P&L building and the proposal to repurpose that lovely--nearly abandoned--structure.
