The University of Kansas tried to stop the bleeding after the ego-tripping feud between football players and basketball players. Now more details are out, and a former Jayhawk star is listed as a witness in a July battery case involving the mother of his child.
The Lawrence Journal-World reports that University of Kansas police have linked an altercation outside Burge Union and an incident in which a man allegedly threatened to shoot a woman in a parking lot near Jayhawker Towers to the feud between the football and basketball teams.
A 19-year-old named Guy Lipscomb was arrested for allegedly threatening to shoot "a current and a former tack athlete," the Journal-World reports. The women the Lipscomb allegedly threatened were also named in a "July 25 battery report at Jayhawker Towers," and one of them got beat up.
The Journal-World reports that 25-year-old Andrea Johnson was charged with misdemeanor battery. The witness: Former Jayhawk basketball player and current Miami Heat point guard Mario Chalmers.
Chalmers and Johnson are the parents of a child., the Journal-World reports.
Bad news for Chalmers. He'll be back in the area on October 15 for the Heat's exhibition game with the New Orleans Hornets.
