Stealing ambulances is popular in Kansas City. The trend popped up again in Lawrence over the weekend. A 21-year-old jacked an ambulance from 10th and Mass. Street early Sunday morning, the Lawrence Journal-World reported.
Why take the ambulance? The guy needed a ride home:
The man, whom [Lawrence Police Sgt. Susan] Hadl said believed he had no other means of transportation home, led police on a brief low-speed chase.
Police charged the guy with driving under the influence. No kidding? The guy joins
Justin Parker and
Thomas Glisson among alleged play EMTs.
Also, the weekend wasn't without bloodshed.
Two were shot in a KCK drive-by shooting. KMBC Channel 9 reports that the
8-year-old girl was shot while sleeping in her bedroom, and her wounds are critical.
Two men were shot outside Bodyworks Phase II on Troost. Hey, everybody. How about less shooting and more
pole dancing lessons.
A woman was stabbed in the head.
On the gridiron, the
Jayhawks narrowly escaped the Iowa State Cyclones.
Texas Tech rolled over Kansas State. And the
Dallas Cowboys rallied to beat the Chiefs in overtime, which makes
11 percent of you wrong.

Monday is here. Let's burn through it.
