The man accused of killing 19-year-old Jasmine Lynn reportedly claims that he didn't fire the stray bullet that killed the college student -- his best friend did.
Prosecutors aren't buying it; they say 21-year-old Devonni Benton is their man.
In other news, a Jackson County jury convicted Sylvester Sisco II yesterday of first-degree murder in the death of Jacob Briggs at the Filling Station Restaurant and Lounge in South Kansas City in 2006, KCUR reports.
From The Kansas City Star:
Although surveillance camera video clearly shows Sisco's brother, Anthony D. Sisco, participating in the shootings, images of the second shooter were less conclusive.
Sisco, 27, will serve the rest of his life in prison.

They killed people who has loved ones, they should be punished
Benton case, Sisco brothers case, really doesnt matter. The law bends depending on the person, not the case....Think about it
The sentence sylvester sisco ll received is highly unfair in my eyes as well as many others who've read this story. How does someone who is clearly not seen, visible receive such time? Its ridiculous. Just last week two kansas city white men were charged with beating a man to death, murder. One man was given seven years and the other was given three....what justice is that!? lets just say Mr. Sisco is guilty, well why didnt he recieve 3-7 yrs? Shouldn't matter how it was done murder is murder. Why does this man (sisco) face life while others walk free? This case maybe closed for now but it will reopen.....KaMi S
