A Wyandotte County jury found 18-year-old Patricio Briseno guilty of first-degree murder yesterday in the death of Ricardo Zamora.
Briseno allegedly fatally shot Zamora, 14, in the 1100 block of Splitlog in KCK on February 9.
The Kansas City Star reports that Zamora was shot in the head on his 14th birthday near Pearson Elementary School.
The jury also acquitted 18-year-old Juan Lopez of the same charge.
Briseno's sentencing is scheduled for December 4 at 8:30 a.m.
