The guys on the right, 22-year-old Justin D. Anderson and 21-year-old Francisco E. Carrasco, allegedly beat up a guy in the Power & Light District so bad that he needed surgery to insert a steel plate under his right eye, according to a report on The Kansas City Star's Web site.

The Star reported that Anderson and Carrasco, both University of Central Missouri students, were arrested Monday at their dorm for their part in a June 17 fight near 13th and Grand that left a 34-year-old man with a broken nose and shattered orbital bone and a 55-year-old with a concussion and a bruised spinal chord.

Anderson and Carrasco are charged with three counts of assault.  A preliminary hearing is scheduled for October 28 at 9 a.m.

Update (1:40 p.m. Wednesday, October 21): Just read the probable cause statement, which says the victim was leaving his wedding reception at a restaurant in the Power & Light District. He noticed that a woman in the wedding party was missing, so he called her on his cell phone. That's when Anderson and Carrasco allegedly jumped him.

Another victim, a public safety officer for the P&L District, told police that he heard Anderson and Carrasco taunting the 34-year-old victim, saying, " Come on you fucking pussy, we are going to kick your head in." A handcuffed Anderson also allegedly placed the officer in a leg lock, and she needed the help of several officers to get him to let her go.
