The Kansas City Chiefs just released a statement saying the team and the NFL have told Larry Johnson to stay away from practice and team activities.
In the statement, the Chiefs say a decision on Johnson's status with the team will be made at the conclusion of the investigation.

The Chiefs and the NFL are investigating homophobic slurs reportedly made by Johnson on Twitter and later in a locker room to reporters, the TV station reports. Once it concludes, then that'll be Johnson's judgment day.The Kansas City Chiefs and the National Football League are continuing
to investigate the alleged comments made by Larry Johnson. Until that
review is complete, the Chiefs have instructed Larry to refrain from
practicing with the Chiefs or participating in other team activities. A
decision regarding Larry's status will be made once the investigation
has concluded.
Also, ESPN reports that Johnson has made an apology -- issued through his attorney -- to the Chiefs, the NFL and commissioner Roger Goodell.
"IOn Sunday, Johnson took to Twitter to criticize Chiefs coach Todd Haley and argue with fans. When one personregret my actions. The words were used by me in frustration, and they
were not appropriate," Johnson said. "I did not intend to offend
anyone, but that is no excuse for what I said.
"I also want to apologize to all the kids who view athletes asrole models. I was not a good role model yesterday and hopefully I can
become a better role model."
criticized Johnson's poor play -- "Hey LJ, is it Haley's fault you fall when
D-Linemen blow on you?" -- Johnson wrote that the guy had a "fag pic."
The Kansas City Star reported Monday that Johnson told reporters that he didn't want to talk until Thursday.
As the reporters left the locker room, Johnson reportedly whispered: "Get your faggot ass out of here."
Yesterday, the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation called on the NFL to punish the former Pro Bowler.
