The Internets are out to get Larry Johnson.

First Twitter, and now an online petition/letter to Chiefs general manager Scott Pioli aimed at stopping the Chiefs running back from becoming the franchise's all-time leading rusher.

The petition calls on Pioli to "deactivate" Johnson and gets overly sentimental talking about "role models" like "Bobby Bell, Christian Okoye, Willie Roaf, Lenny Dawson, Priest Holmes, Abner Hayes and the amazing Derrick Thomas."

Derrick Thomas? Yes, he was NFL Man of the Year for his charitable ways, but he also had his vices (several children with different mothers). But we all do.

So far, the petition is up to 928 signatures.

"Who cares if he become the Chiefs leading rusher? Just trad him at the end of the season. Maybe holding the Chiefs rushing record will make him more valuable in a deal with some other team."

EXACTLY. How many Hall of Famers are there who were wife-beaters, racists, or just plain jerks in real life? It's too bad, but being an ass off the field doesn't negate what someone accomplished on the field. KC's reputation is already ruined because of the OTHER biggest record-setting sports asshole, George Brett.

So Larry Johnson is an Immature jerk. Well the K.C. fans help him get that way. All the adulation when he was performing well. The times he committed his off field offenses, the Chiefs and their fans welcomed him back with welcoming arms.

Who cares if he become the Chiefs leading rusher? Just trad him at the end of the season. Maybe holding the Chiefs rushing record will make him more valuable in a deal with some other team.
