A little update from the KCPD's Vice Section on last week's large-scale prostitution bust.
The final tally of arrests was 123, split pretty much down the middle between soliciting (prostitutes) and patronizing (johns), said Sgt. Brad Dumit.
Officers and detectives in the multi-agency effort also recovered crack, marijuana, stolen autos and made arrests on outstanding warrants.
"It was a fun week," Dumit said.

Those are some good points. I'm a Pepper, he's a Pepper, and etc. Now let's find some whores!
Quick, name another 'crime' that's perfectly legal if you do it for free but becomes illegal once money is exchanged. I'll wait.
IMO prostitution is illegal because women can't hold onto their husbands otherwise. Same goes for marriage. It's a device to keep their breadwinners locked down.
If prostitution were regarded as the highest social status occupation that a woman could aspire to, then it would be legalized (by women) in an instant. Social status is the gold standard by which women judge everything. As it is, prostitutes are considered the lowest of the low...until they are victims. A victim is the highest status woman in the world.
So, when you see these stories about prostitution think about in terms of social status and visibility. The cops go after the girls that are out in public places or advertise openly on Backpage (The Pitch).

Is there any legitimate reason to keep prostitution illegal? You can give away sex for free, so why is it against the law to sell? And don't give me the "selling their bodies" argument, because we ALL sell our bodies in one way or another to earn a living.
Legalize and regulate prostitution! If this is done SEVERAL problems will be eradicated:
1. Girls and guys can be monitored to prevent spread of disease.
2. Drug use will not go hand in hand with getting a prostitute.
3. Safe sex can be encouraged and practiced.
4. No more dangerous pimps
5. Offers a legal job for girls
6. Allows people who may not have sex to get sex, and then crazies like that guy in Pittsburgh won't kill innocent women
7. NO MORE WASTING TAX DOLLARS ON STINGS
Is it a victimless crime? If NO, then half of the people arrested were victims! Way to go Dumit! As far as the drugs and stolen property, isn't that a product of prohibition instead of the prostitution itself? Same goes for the implied violence. Decriminalized prostitution would solve most of the violence and coercion problems.
I always look for the words "ALWAYS" and "NEVER" when reading prostitution stories. Are women always victims? Do they never enjoy having sex with men and getting paid hundreds of dollars per hour? Are they always forced into this hundreds of dollars per hour job? Imagine how horrible it would be if a MAN had to have sex with random women that paid him $300/hr! lol
