Killa City: Woman found shot to death at Meyer and South Benton

Kansas City police found a woman shot to death in a van near Meyer and South Benton on Sunday night, KMBC Channel 9 reports.

No official word yet from the KCPD, but KMBC reports that "shots fired" calls started coming in to 911 after 10 p.m. That's when police found the woman, said to be in her 30s, dead in the van.

Dear Pitch: Thanks, as always, for posting the news of the latest homicide-- a big segment of the local media wants to forget about these sorts of issues--not good for the convention industry. In 2007, 94 homicides in KCMO, in 2008 126, so far in 2009 97--not looking good for the home team.Sincerely and Respectfully, Ernest Evans
