tossed in the trunk of a Pontiac Grand Prix and kidnapped in Excelsior
Springs on November 4.
Zimmerman told police that Thomas was killed because she tried to pass off rock salt as $500 worth of drugs.
Here's Zimmerman's version of Thomas' killing.
After beating Thomas and locking her in a trunk, Zimmerman drove Reardon and
Saling as far as Missouri City. They almost ran out of gas and had to call another person to bring them fuel. Saling left with the woman who brought them gas.
With the Grand Prix gassed up, Reardon
took the wheel and drove to a property in
rural Ray County. He allegedly stopped after Thomas kicked the backseat.
Zimmerman
said Reardon unlocked the trunk, pulled Thomas out and
argued with her. That's when Reardon allegedly shot Thomas in the head
and dumped her body in a ditch.
Zimmerman said he and Reardon left,
heading toward Lawson. Reardon called Saling to pick them up because he was allegedly torching the Grand Prix, Zimmerman said.
On November 18, Saling has a hearing scheduled in Clay County court. Zimmerman and Reardon are scheduled to return on December 8.
