Jonathan Conklin was the victim of this morning's homicide.
Kansas City police found Conklin, who they say is 23-years-old and from KCMO, shot to death in a backyard in the 3100 block of East 12th Street after 2 a.m.
Conklin was pronounced dead at the scene.
Kansas City police had received a call of a shooting in the 3000 block
of Peery around 1:56 a.m. Officers talked to a man who told them his
friend had been shot. The man was taken to a local hospital with
life-threatening injuries.
After the man was taken to the hospital, police officers canvassed the
area, looking for another victim. That's when they received a call that
a shooting victim was lying in a backyard in the 3100 block of East
12th.
