The boyfriend of a pregnant woman who was shot and killed last week has identified the alleged shooter.
The boyfriend, who was also shot and is in a hospital, picked out Calvin A. Boswell from a photo, and told police that Bowell, who is also known as "Cowboy," is the man who allegedly shot and killed his girlfriend, Ashley D. Thomas, and her unborn baby.
Kansas City police say Boswell is not in custody. However, Jackson County prosecutors charged Boswell with two counts of
second-degree murder, four counts of armed criminal action and two
counts of first-degree assault.
Similar charged were filed yesterday against Lionel R. Henderson, who a fourth victim said was the "look out" in the shooting.
Police arrested Henderson, 25, on Saturday.
Police found Thomas, who was nine-months pregnant, and her boyfriend shot inside a car in the 1300
block of East Armor around 5:18 p.m.
Thomas was pronounced dead at a local hospital. Doctors were unable to
save Thomas' baby.

Never was going to be a "real person," amirite?
Dear Pitch: Thanks, as always, keeping city posted on crime situation. In this connection, please note that, as widely predicted, the city establishment has responded to the tragic murder of this young woman and her unborn child in a typical fashion: At the Nov. 24 Police Board meeting the KCPD bowed to pressure from this establishment and dutifuly reported that crime, aside of course from homicides, is down sharply in recent years. Apparently any conventions thinking of cancelling are now reassured: If they come, they and their children may be killed, but there is virtually no chance their hubcaps will be stolen!! How reassuring!! Sincerely and Respectfully, Ernest Evans
