Wyandotte County prosecutors charged Manuel Alejandro Cardenas-Castro, 59, with second-degree murder in connection with the death of Beatriz Castro-Telles on November 28.
WyCo prosecutors say Castro-Telles was found dead in the 300 block of South Ferree.
Cardenas-Castro is being held in lieu of $500,000 bond.
Castro-Telles death was KCK's 37th homicide of 2009.

Dear Pitch: Thanks, as always, for keeping a "running count" of KCK and KCMO homicides. These are figures the KC-area elite is frantically trying to "sweep under the rug"--let's not lose any more conventions!! KCK trend lines don't look good: 25 homicides in all of 2007, 33 in all of 2008 and 37 so far in 2009--meanwhile, all over the nation, cities are recording record low homicide figures. In human terms, one can understand wanting to "wish away" these figures: If no one schedules conventions in Detroit it is not because of the Lions' poor performance in 2008!!
