Will Chiefs turn to Charlie Weis once he's fired by pope?

When the NFL season ends, and the Chiefs put a button on three consecutive losing seasons, rookie head coach Todd Haley will surely reconsider his decision to take on the duties of offensive coordinator. (Algebra for Haley to consider: Handing off the laminated play card = More time to yell at people.)

Should Haley decide to delegate the play calling in 2010, Sports Illustrated writer Peter King speculates that rotund, soon-to-be-fired Notre Dame coach Charlie Weis is a candidate to fill the role. Weis was the offensive coordinator under Bill Belichick in New England prior to coaching in the shadow of Touchdown Jesus.

King writes:

The Chiefs don't have a coordinator in the wake of the midseason departure of Chan Gailey. GM Scott Pioli and Weis worked together with the Jets and Pats. Not sure if Todd Haley and Weis, both strong personalities, would be oil and water.
Oil and water? We were thinking Jake and the Fatman. But OK.
