Danselle T. Stubbs, who was allegedly involved in a bizarre landlord/kidnapper incident back in October, was charged Monday with kidnapping, armed criminal action and two counts of misdemeanor assault.
According to court documents, a woman contacted Stubbs, a 36-year-old man who also answers to the name "Big D," about renting a place. Stubbs and another unidentified man allegedly picked up the victim at Truman and Hardesty, and the unnamed driver dropped off Stubbs and the woman at 6740 S. Benton Blvd.
A quick check on Kiva Web confirms Stubbs owns the place.
Once at the property, according to the probable cause statement, Stubbs allegedly asked the victim, a 22-year-old woman, to wait in a back bedroom while he talked on the phone with his girlfriend. After the call, Stubbs allegedly entered the room, smacked the victim in the face and started stripping her.
Stubbs allegedly flipped the woman on her stomach, handcuffed and
choked her and then proceeded to throw her around the house by her hair
as well as punch, kick and whip her with a belt. Then Stubbs allegedly
put a gun in the victim's face and demanded she stop crying.
Stubbs allegedly duct taped the woman's ankles, threw her in a closet and barricaded the door with furniture.
The
woman told police that once she heard Stubbs leave, she sawed through
the duct tape around her ankles with the sharp end of a coaxial cable. And though she was still handcuffed, dialed police on her cell phone.
Kansas City police arrested Stubbs on November 27. His bond was set at $200,000 cash.
