Kansas gets permission to talk to Buffalo coach Turner Gill

Update: I stand correct. Ole Miss coach Houston Nutt is interested in the KU job and has spoken with Kansas athletic director Lew Perkins, according to The Kansas City Star. But KU would have to really pony up. Nutt makes $2.5 million at Ole Miss.

So much for the Houston-Nutt-to-Kansas-is-a-done-deal rumors. For now.

The University of Buffalo has granted KU permission to talk to coach Turner Gill, who reportedly met with KU officials on Sunday in New York City.

Last year, Gill was on a lot of wish lists -- many Iowa State fans wanted him -- but he decided to stay in Buffalo.

Meanwhile, the Missouri-to-the-Big-10 chatter is starting up now that they were passed over by the Insight Bowl.
