Howard Jackson, 18, has been charged with second degree murder, child abuse resulting in death, and first degree endangering the welfare of a child in the beating-death of 7-month-old child Mikel Alston back in September.

A day after the child's death, the Jackson County medical examiner discovered blunt force trauma to the victim to the thorax and abdomen, a skull fracture, lacerated liver and spleen, a rib fracture and healing rib fractures, according to the charging document.

When police interviewed the victim's mother, she "stated she was afraid to leave the victim alone with Jackson because she feels he is too rough with the victim and that he becomes easily frustrated with the victim."

The victim's mother told investigators that she'd seen Jackson grab the baby around the midsection and squeeze tightly to get the baby to stop crying. She also observed Jackson press down Mikel's head when he was fussy.

Excerpts from the KCPD's interrogation of Jackson are posted after the jump.

Jackson denied wrongdoing at first, but detectives pulled information out of him about the night in question and his alleged mistreatment of the 7-month-old. These quotes are from the charging document associated with Jackson's arrest.

Out of frustration, he struck the victim in the stomach

with his fist and he struck the victim in the head and the side of the

torso with his elbow. He stated "I was changing his diaper and I just

filled him fast and he hit his head on my knee."

The report continues:

He stated he accidentally kicked the victim, causing the

victim to fall over, as he turned to walk out of the kitchen. He also

stated he sat down on the coach and the victim began to pull on his

leg, at which point he kicked the victim.

And this:

He stated the victim also slipped and fell while he was in

the kitchen, striking his head on a metal strip on the floor. He stated

the victim fell off of the couch and struck his head and the victim

also fell into a hole in the couch during the same time.

At the end of the interrogation, Jackson reportedly told police: "'I

didn't mean for it to go like this,' and 'I never meant to hurt him,'"

according to the charging document.

How could anyone not blame the mother, and there is documents that she did get Howard from school to get the baby. If she wasn't out there trying to be with other men she could of had her baby her self. That bullshit about her running an errand that day is as much a lie as her black ass is. What about the baby sitter. Check his ass out. They pinned that shit on him and they know it. It's gonna come back on them. Soon. You can count on it.

All of you mother fuckers on here talking all this he was angry and should die bullshit need to know that he wasn't even the one who did the shit. He will be home in a little bit he was wrongfully accused of this indecent act. They put him on here and made him look guilty so people could see him and stereotype him just like you fools are doing. They need all of the ignorant people in the world like you all to believe he is a bad guy so they can win their case. So to all of you ignorant people who had something bad to say you need to think and then speak instead of assuming and making an ass of yourself like most of you just did. have a nice day.

If she saw all that she claims then why in the hell did she continue leaving the baby with him and where was she when the final inciden transpired? I guess I need to read the excerpts.

How could anybody be so cruel as to hurt an innocent child. It is completely uncalled for. I agree with Msmith, I believe the mother knew this man was angry and violent and there is no way I would have ever left my child with him - father or not. I am sure just as he was abusive to the child he was equally abusive towards her.
God will give him a better punishment than jail could ever give. Just the same I hope he never sees daylight again.

I think the mother should have known and paid more attention to what was going on with her child. For not speaking up and leaving the baby with him over and over again. She should be charged to. I this is why you just can't leave your child with any and everybody. I hope that she doesn't have any other children. For the dad I hope they toast his **beep**!!
