Police also say the shooting likely happened at another location.

Also, The Kansas City Star reported that police found a man shot to death inside a car near 68th Terrace and Myrtle Avenue Friday around 5 p.m. Witnesses reportedly saw someone run from the car after hearing gunshots.

Finally, KSHB Channel 41 reported that a dead body was found at the bottom of a stairwell in a residence at 39th and Central. The cause of death wasn't announced.

Dear Pitch: Thanks for continuing to keep the city posted on the crime situation. By my count, now up to 108 homicides for 2009--compared to 94 in 2007 and 126 in 2008. KCMO has the "distinction" of being virtually the only city of any size in the country to have more homicides in both 2008 and 2009 than in 2007, around the country most cities have seen steadily falling homicide rates in 2008 and 2009 compared to 2007. Sincerely and Respectfully, Ernest Evans
