Mo. state Sen. Matt Bartle again reaching for pasties

Missouri state Sen. Matt Bartle (R-Lee's Summit) sure hates porn.

As the 2010 legislative session draws near, the occasionally bow-tied lawmaker is again putting adult-entertainment businesses on notice. Bartle has filed a bill restricting the time, manner and place that "purveyors of pornography" can operate. Citing the proliferation of sex-related businesses alongside I-70, Bartle says his bill will restore Missouri's family-friendly image.

Bartle has tried for years to regulate the retail sex trade. In 2005, he proposed a bill requiring sex shops to charge a $5 cover and close at 10 p.m. It also banned strippers from accepting tips, which is sort of like telling a cupcake artist not to use frosting.

In the past, adult businesses have been able to thwart Bartle's attempts to regulate them. Brian Yates, a Republican state representative from Lee's Summit who resigned on December 1, recently complained that the industry killed the 2005 bill with a $35,000 donation to a campaign fund associated with former House speaker and mug-shot hunk Rod Jetton.

I wish I didn't live in this state right now. I'm so disgusted. It always starts the same way and ends the same way in every state. What happened with the clubs in Houston is an example. It was all caused by perverted people in government. First they accuse the dancers of being whores. Then they start licensing women to dance - only women. Then they keep on with the whoremongering until they run all of the entertainers out of town and they finally get what they want. Once the legitimate entertainers have left the state, there will be nothing but prostitutes in the clubs and the cities will become even bigger ghettos. That seems to be what these people (the perverted politicians and the religious zealots - all the same thing) want.

I don't understand why they hate women so much or why they are obsessed with women's breasts. But, the thing that has to be considered is that all people are entitled to equal protection under the law - yes, even people with breasts. Even people you don't like or disagree with - they are still citizens with basic human and constitutional rights.

If I could sell my house right now, I'd move to Vermont - anyplace to get away from all of the meth and corruption in this horrible state!

What has happened to America? When did "The Land of The Free" become "The Land of One Persons Moral Values..."

I thought we treasured individual freedom? I thought the last thing we were supposed to do is imposed one persons way of life on another? What group of narrow-minded ignorant souls voted this person in?

I've got news for anyone who thinks Jesus is God, or that there was only 'ONE' God etc... Unfortunately you're ignorant of history and historical facts. What am I referring to? The REAL 'God' - or actually 'GODS' are fully described in thousands of clay tablets left behind by the very first civilization, which was THE SUMERIANS, and includes extremely detailed accounts - very specific - of how 'man' was REALLY created... and these tablet were written around 3800 B.C. - approximately 4700 years BEFORE the Bible was 'put together' by Constantine and the Council of Nicea in 325 A.D...

Again, these are the ORIGINAL accounts of 'God' - or actually the 'Gods' - from the very first civilization, THE SUMERIANS... they were the ones who were CREATED by 'the Gods', and it's all in their original words...they say EXACTLY what happened...

...Those are the REAL words.... those are the undisputed, and undiluted FACTS, it's empirical evidence (which means it cannot be disputed), and anyone can look it up....

...if they're NOT ignorant....

Note: To bad Sen. Matt Bartle seems to fall into the ignorant category... as such, he really needs to be impeached, or step down from office, as soon as possible...

This little man doesn't care what happens to the employees of the adult industry. It's his own personal interests in shutting everything down.
This LITTLE MAN, well BOY, believes in Communism in Missouri and America. He's a religous idiot!
My God says otherwise when it comes to sexuality and the human body.

He must be a communist to want to take away more of his citizens freedoms.

When will our goverment stop trying to hurt it's people?

Shutting down strip clubs will create an environment where strippers do house calls, get raped, killed, abused, etc.

I hope you people in Missouri wake up and do something about this. I don't want this stupidy to spill over your borders.

The last time he did that it lead to an expansion of all those clubs on I-70 as they tried to get in before the lock. I think he's on the porn industry payroll.

jjskck is right. It's been proven time and time again that whenever a republican crusades against something they're invariably involved in it. I'm guessing that Bartle is anti-porn because he can't control his own urges.

Which means it's only a matter of time until he has a sex scandal of his own.
