A lawsuit is tearing apart JP Wine Bar's ownership.

Investors, like Ryan Maybee, claim they've never seen a penny and accuse the wine bars' owners, Linda and Keith Gobel, of mixing "money by using investments to prop up another, legally separate one" in a "Madoffesque ponzi scheme," according to KSHB Channel 41.

The investors' lawyer, Jason Kander, told the TV station that the difference between the Gobels and Bernie Madoff is that "Madoff occasionally paid something out to some of the people who were victims. In this case, there's not even been that."

Linda Gobel denied the accusations and said Maybee is only suing because he wanted to be bought out.

I'm pretty sure the lawsuit is more about WHAT they may have done with potential moneys, rather than them getting their investment back.

Sigh... Really? Do you even know what he DID with the place? or what he DOES now?

It hasn't been the same since he's been gone. He was practically a fixture in the establishment, I'm pretty sure he was the acting management / ran things.

and from what I can tell... he's running / owns a pretty successful bar now.

This Ryan Maybee guy sounds like a real idiot. If you're expecting a return on your investment the restaurant business is the wrong place for you.
