Holiday Weekend Distractions

Posted by Crystal K. Wiebe on Thu, Dec 24, 2009 at 8:00 AM

It's almost Christmas! Now, what do you do Christmas day and the weekend? Suggestions:

1. Go to the movies! Most theaters are open Christmas day. And if you don't have your heart set on a new release, head to Union Station for Polar Express in 3D.

2. Yuk it up. Comedian Elliott Threatt performs at Stanford's Comedy Club tonight.

3. Hit the jackpot! Casinos are always open.

4. Save money while spending it! The day after Christmas is a notorious holiday for bargain hunters. While your mom's battling the crowds elsewhere in Zona Rosa, you can find more unique things at the Vintage Market Holiday Boutiques.

5. Become a bubble head! The simply-named Wine in Brookside is offering a free tasting of champagne and other bubbly beverages on Saturday.

6. Be happy! Or at least think about why you should work towards it during a lecture on The Psychology of Happines, presented by the Community of Reason at UMKC.

Nice Article!!

Here's a 8 Minute Holiday Treat!

One of my new favorite Christmas movies, "The Gift Wrapper", I saw in a film festival this year and it was just posted on youtube for the holidays!

Apparently they are only screening it for the holidays and then it goes back into the vaults till next year.

Enjoy!!
