A Florida judge sentenced former Kansas City children's show host and 77-year-old registered sex offender "Uncle Ed" Muscare to five years in prison for violating his probation for using the Internet and possessing alcohol, the Orlando Sentinel reported.
Muscare reportedly begged the judge for mercy and cried when the judge handed down the sentence.
"I feel in my heart I did nothing wrong," Muscare told the court.
"Uncle" Ed had been posting bizarre videos to YouTube, including one of a dog suckling on his bare stomach. This of course earned him Internet fame, dubbed by some the "Singing Sex Offender."
Muscare
was arrested in 1986 for molesting a 14-year-old Florida boy. Since,
he's reportedly had trouble registering as a sex offender.
An Orlando TV station interviewed Muscare, who argued that sex offenders
deserve second chances, although he added, "I would never sexually
offend again, but we can't help but sin. We're all human beings."
In
the TV interview, Muscare admitted not registering because
neighbors would harass him so he "hid successfully in South Carolina,
until one day the deputy sheriff showed up" and arrested him.

The sentencing was pretty harsh. The judge showed no sympathy, and this guy hasn't done ANYTHING remotely resembling sexual offense of 23 years. I don't condone the behavior that got him into trouble years ago, but I can also understand why a sex offender might want to conceal their whereabouts to avoid harassment.
Sorry.. I already used up my one lifetime "forgive a pedophile" coupon on Jeffery Jones. If I hadnt Id never have been able to watch "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" again.. and that just aint gonna happen.
