1. Martin Luther King Jr. Day isn't until Monday, but you can honor MLK's legacy all weekend through various community events, beginning tonight with a forum on civil rights at Congregation Kol Ami.

2. Meet your favorite Royals! George Brett, Willie Wilson and other members of the 1985 championship team plus some current players will sign autographs during KC Royals Fanfest, today and Saturday at the Overland Park Convention Center.

3. Change you life through hula hooping! Lawrence Arts Center is the setting for a HoopPath workshop taking place on Saturday and Sunday.

4. Wear your kilt. Or at least support other people wearing them -- during Winter Storm, a bagpipe-heavy concert Saturday at Community Christian Church.

5. Admire art. And drink. Quicker and Deader, a collaborative art exhibit opens at the Bourgeois Pig at 7 p.m. Sunday.
