Awesome insight I was searching Yahoo for something and came across this web site of yours. By the way, where can I subscribe to new content?
I forgot to mention my name in the above post. I want his family to know you all are in my prayers. As I think about the hurt that I am currently feeling; I can't begin to imagine what it must be like for his family. Derrick was so easy to love. I am at lost of words to describe my friend. What I can say is his life, his death will not be in vain......
This is horrific and tragic. At some point the community needs to take a stand and say "You won't take another one of our black young ment." A cycle of envy and hatred has manifested in the community and it must cease to exist. Derrick was MY friend. Derrick was a father, a son, a grandson, a barber, a young man.....etc. How dare YOU take him from so many who loved him? It is not okay, it is not the norm, it is not alright... Someone must answer to this because that young man was a good one. His legacy will live on and he will be forever remembered and loved!
Dear Pitch: Not looking good for KCK crime-wise. In all of 2007--25 homicides, 2008--33, 2009--40; January not even over and 4 homicides in 2010. As for KCMO, 6 homicides in all of Jan. 2009, 6 so far in Jan. 2010. KC-area well on way to being the new "Murder Capital of America." Sincerely and Respectfully, Ernest Evans PS: With these grim stats,I expect very soon a series of statements by local politicos blaming crime problems on recession--ie, local politicos bear no responsibility whatsoever for the bloodbath taking place.
