Killa City homicide No. 13: One dead in overnight shooting

Kansas City police are investigating a homicide after a teenager was fatally shot in the 7100 block of Indiana Tuesday around 9:45 p.m.

Officers found a black male in his late teens in the front yard of a residence. The teen was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two witnesses told police that a dog was chasing them and the shooting victim when an unidentified person shot the victim.

Dear Pitch: Thanks for keeping the city posting on a "running basis" with the homicide totals. You are practically the only source in town doing so: The newspapers and TV stations don't, and the KCPD's new website appears to still be on a "shakedown cruise" with its new computer technology because they have not yet posted any homicide stats for 2010. By my count, 7 homicides so far in 2010--in 2009 6 at this time, in 2008 8 and in 2007 4. In Christ, Ernest Evans
