Student government is an ego-driven affair so why not make Stephen Colbert, the biggest egomaniac of them all, student body president of the University of Kansas?
In a grab for attention (hey, it worked), KU student senator Tom Cox is introducing a resolution tonight that would make Colbert student body president for life ... that is, if he'd show up on campus to fulfill his duties, the University Daily Kansan reports.
Of course, there's some who realize that student government is meant to be taken seriously. Eric Foss told the Kansan, "It makes Senate look like a joke, makes it look like we really don't take our jobs seriously, which is the furthest thing from the truth."
Like the serious business of doling out money for activities.

I'm a 2009 grad, and I'd come back from Ohio to see Colbert in Student Senate at KU. I would come back from ANYWHERE to see him at KU.
Oh, Tom. Good work on this one. At least Senate would be a little more fun than it was when I was in it.
As a 1992 KU grad, I'd like to say there are tons of people I'd be more concerned about as student body president than Colbert. I'd just like tickets if he comes to Lawrence to make an acceptance speech. I'd fly all the way from DC to see that!

Wow, sounds like a good idea to me! I like it.
