Wow, I have never heard such ignorance. Steve's does a job just like everyone else does. They did not TAKE money from Kansas, It was paid for a service, A service that other markets wanted to charge more for. They did not just murder poor animals, they were processed for POOR families. What would you have called one of those animals if it were through the windshield of your car and your child lay bleeding from the accident? I can see why you posted under ANON. You need your ASS WHOOPED! And there are plenty of us here in De Soto that will accomodate you if you show your face.

Again Jason Miller and the Bite Club of KC is doing great work in the area!
Steve's Meat Market belongs to be shut down after they took all those funds from good people of the state of Kansas.

May Mitch and Steve burn in hell.

One last thought: were those deer killed to feed innocent families...or were they killed due to overpopulation and subsequently butchered and offered to needy families so that the meat would not waste?

There is a balance to our ecosystem that must be kept in check because we occupy a great deal of land predators once used to hunt deer. Deer overpopulate frequently in this area.

For me, it's hard to feel bad about participating in the food chain.

I can see both sides of the argument but I don't feel that it is necessary to lobby for the cause. I think meat-eaters understand and are comfortable with the fact that animals are raised in pins and executed for food. When the meat comes from a source that is cheaper than another; the animals were likely treated poorly in the facility prior to execution.

Name calling is not and has never been relevant to any cause. If you're about raising awareness for a cause; defend the cause. Assuming meat-eaters are your audience...do you want to persuade us or make us angry? If you persuade us we will presumably stop eating meat. If you make us angry by using irrelevant insults we will continue to feel that your morals are as relevant as your attacks.

Just sayin'...

Hi everyone

I used to eat meat, wear fur and ridicule animal rights people. I think it gave me a sense of belonging or 'better than' or was I just selfish thinking of only my own wants. Whatever it was, it had nothing to do with what I was actually defending; I didn't know. When I did learn that I was defending cruelty beyond words, I stopped. I took a look at what I was actually defending and looked for myself not assisted by meat & dairy public relations specialists. I took a look at the animals. It was unreal! Pigs locked inside body hugging cages their entire adult life, have you ever heard a cow 'cry' for a week because her day old calf has been taken from her; we don't even take kittens from Mom until they're 6 weeks old. Have you ever seen chickens scalded to death? This is common everysingle day occurance. How many animals are not unconcius when they are skinned? 5% is acceptable; their are billions of animals slaughtered everyday. what is 5% of billions?"Think for a moment of what you cannot bare to look at."

It's easy, like mad libs, except without the humor.

Hey Catherine, thanks for injecting some rational thought into this conversation. If more people from the AR movement could communicated like you then a larger audience may actually listen to you guys.

@ Stacey, your FB page even makes you look more bat-shit crazy than I expected. Nice job. Your attitude is almost as ugly as you are.

@ Judy, I love this condescending tone you and Stacey throw around, its hilarious.

Jason Miller: please keep up the good work. Stopping animal agribusiness is the wisest path man could take. Ask Einstein. That corupt business is killing everything it touches. They are unspeakably cruel to animals; they are destroying the earth, ruining your health and literally starving people. It takes 16 lbs. of grain to make 1 lb of meat. That same 16 lbs of grain could feed 32 people. How far will a pound of meat go? In my bowl of spinach 49% of my caloric intake is protein. In carcass (aka meat) you receive significantly less. Animal agriculture is depleatiing rain forests and our fresh water. One steer uses the amount of water that it takes to float a destroyer ship. In California the water tables loss caused the a drop of 17 feet in ground level; water tables are not renuable.

But mostly this business needs to be stopped because of the absolute torture this industry exhaults on animals. That is by far enough of a reason that any thinking human being would help you to stop them. Be wise and go vegan!

Not sure why you have two profiles, but my opinion is the same, you need to eat a bit of nutritious meat! Get some protein and fat in that diet, we don't want our favorite new Plog commenter going belly up like some whale off the coast of Japan.

Anemia is the culprit. Meat helps sweetheart.

Pale skin on the lining of the eyes, the inner mouth, gums and the nails. Severe menstrual pain and bleeding (explains her negative tone), A strong desire to eat nonfoods such as ice, paint or dirt (isn't this veganism anyway?) Hope this helps!

Oh, poor Dave, do you need a moment by yourself? Can I offer you a tissue? Wow, the animals have such a champion in their corner, thank goodness they have your voice. Keep being the pathetic pacifist you are; without the voice of opposition the animal-killing machine just keeps on killing! See, when you give them zero incentive to stop, guess what?? They DON'T! Thanks to passivity infecting the movement with homilies of peace and love, the animals are still being viciously murdered. Sleep well at night; your conforming viewpoint makes for a fluffy pillow, the corporate sucks and slaughterers have a great ally in you.

Jason, mediocrity suits you so well, keep it up.

Stacy-

I find it extremely ironic that while supporting this cause you also resort to insulting the intelligence of people who eat meat or simply disagree with you almost immediately rather than attempting to prove your point in a more rational way.

I know many many many people who are obviously far more intelligent than yourself who eat red meat every day.

I'm a vegan, and while I love my lifestyle, I am often embarrassed to admit this b/c of the associations with zealots like yourself.

The comparison with Phelps is extreme, but it isn't completely out of line. Blinded with your extreme views you will cast insults freely and assume that your way in life is the only correct way and all that do not follow it are doomed to a life of ignorance and maybe worse. That does sound kind of familiar.

Aw, can't think of anything unique so you have to compare me to some homophobic degenerate in the Phelps' clan as some way to discredit me? Wow, talk about P.A.T.H.E.T.I.C. Look it up if you're not certain what it means, you'll find your picture there so your reading-comprehension challenges will not be an issue. Listen, Abe, to actually attempt some comparison of AR people to that malignancy is so incredibly baseless and pitiful, I wonder if you are indeed a spokesperson for them? Hm???? Been to any hate-fests lately?
