Michael V. Badalucco admitted in federal court today that he was a bookie for an illegal gambling operation in Kansas City, Missouri.

Badalucco, 26, from North Kansas City, waived his right to a grand jury and pleaded guilty this afternoon to his role in running an illegal sports bookmaking business.

Prosecutors say Badalucco and other bookmakers gave bettors a 1-800

number and Web site to bet on sporting events, and used

another 1-800 number to track the wagers and account balances.

The 1-800 numbers went to a Costa Rican company, which received the

wagers and tracked the results but didn't have an interest in the

outcomes of the bets. Prosecutors say Badalucco and other bookmakers

made payments and collected cash in person from their clients on a

weekly basis.

Badalucco

could get up to two years in federal prison without parole and as much

as a $250,000 fine. His sentencing hearing has not yet been scheduled.

My uncle and his sons are bookies. They barely graduated from high school. They were the dumb jocks busy using women like public restrooms and were not good at the books. I believe my uncle retired from his blue collar job making no more than $17 an hour. However, they ALWAYS had money so that my aunt did not have to work, dirty money to buy new cars and clothes, take elaborate vacations and to remodel their home. They put the rest of their honest, tax paying family down, that had to really break their backs to make an honest living that used their brains and that did not have the luxuries their dishonest untaxed money bought. They are cocky as they have the local police as customers who make certain they NEVER get arrested for it. To me, they are no different then pimps, prostitutes and drug dealers.

Wow white hog it's amazing you hold yourself in such high esteem. I would think that if one was going to call someone out for not using spell check they would know how to use it themselves? "aggregious" is spelled egregious. Next time you may want to follow your own advice so as not to appear as such a sheisskopf. I suspect someone with stupidity such as yours, could have authored this article.

My question to 100% of the authors of the above postings is: Have any of yous ever learnt how to wirk spell-check, or what?

Not only are the the errors a scream, but the contents are collectively aggregious, dually.

As for the idiotic comments of jounalists just making up the stories, I would tend to think that Federal Informations that are filed with Federal Court, which are "step one" for the recent Indictments, came directly from the key strokes of a keg full of "Italian strokes."

God help us all.

And more than likely, every freaking illiterate, arm-chair, mob psychiatrist that posted on here, bitch that their kids and grandkids can't get a decent education in America.

Great example Kansas City. Let's all blame busing for this valiant display of literacy.

Why does this family keep passing the blame. They know what Carl was doing was illegal. As did he. Do they think he did nothing wrong? Carl was in jail because of Carl. But now, someone else is going to jail because of Carl. I know most of the guys who went to jail, Their were 3 ways to get out. A guilty plea-grand jury term over- or rat. Just because the FBI might have had enough to make a case doesn't make it ok to talk. My question is, Why would his family make it harder for him? Crying around town for someone to step up, instead of telling him to stay strong and that he was doing the right thing. I hope he has to take the stand, I just want to see his sketch, with that pointy nose and the long whiskers.

Hi Gary,

All I wanna know is how Carl got home early. If you can explain that in any way, I will not post again, and I will defend Carl to anyone who talks bad about him or his family from here on out. The problem is I think you know the truth. Your not a dumb person. But you are close with his family, so its understandable that you are defending him. If you wanna stick by him, fine, that is on you. But don't defend him on a website where you sign your name. You know in your heart what he did. You have been around this italian community for years. He went to jail for approx 8 wks, couldn't handle it anymore, so he had his lawyer call the
FBI and told them what they wanted to know. He then went back on Feb 2 to talk to the grand jury. These aren't opinions, they are facts. So do yourself a favor gary and quit defending this bumb, its making you look bad too. We all know what happened. And so do you.

Gary in order to "step forward" you must be charged in a crime. Plead bargins were being made during this time frame. They were standing up for what they did, it takes time. You cant plead guilty to charges you have not been indicted for. So please tell us why Carl went home early

Gary, There is really just one question. Its very simple, and it has been asked several times. I'm not doing any name calling or anything. I just wanna know, "How did Carl Miceli get out of jail, and everyone else did not?" Thats all I wanna know. If you can just answer that I will defend Carl as much as you are. Please just answer that, thats all I'm asking. Thanks,

Holy shit! You Italians really live up to your stereo-type, you're all a work. No wonder nobody likes Italians but Italians, which it doesn't seem like you really like much of each other either. Break the law, treat everyone in the world like shit (because you think your superior) and then go say your fucking rosary (and pray to Mary?, Who?) Do you dago's (did I spell that right) eat your young too? So keep on trying to fulfill your little wiseguy fantasies, because we all think it's funny! And surely don't give a shit of what you think of us. I can't wait to read the next excerpt of this story, just keep it coming.

Well it seems the law got what they wanted, they couldn't break the Italian code by putting them in the pin for the 5th, and then while they were there treating them all like shit (illegal practices).
So with knowing the worst thing they could do is let someone out early, hopefully creating broken solidity in the Italian community, Well they did it. You should all be ashamed of yourselves for falling for this trick. Basta!
Did Carl's testimony get someone charged with something? No! He just got out early because of their scheme, and you all assume he's a rat. Yeah Carl had some issues that needed attention, but no one really offered him help. I don't know why, it could have been because some were making a lot of money from him, I'm not accusing anyone of anything I'm just saying, maybe.
Well why don't you all just calm down and quit assuming. "Assumption is the Mother of all Fuck-Ups" and they are using that against us.
I know you all. I grew up with you all. I went to Pius with you all. And danced at all the beautiful weddings with you all. I cried at the funerals of our loved ones with you all.

Please stop! They are getting what they want now. If Carl takes the stand and testifies against one of us, then and only then is he a rat! but until then stand strong and united as we should.

I love you all!

Gary, I posted the long post about Carl Miceli a few posts up. I will not attach my name and I do have a clue on what I'm talking about. I just wanted you to answer how it was possible to get out of jail without talking on someone. If Carl did not snitch or rat or talk on someone, please just tell me how he got out of jail. I'm not trying to have a beef with you Gary, I just would like to know. I can maybe help clear his name if you can just tell me how he got out without talking. None of you people were in the courtroom or met with any lawyers. I really like the comment from the guy who said word on the street is he turned ten others in. Its all funny to me considering none of you know anything about this, then what your hearing, yet making negative comments about all these guys who went to jail or are going to jail. That pretty ignorant and you get in trouble. I just thinks its funny and i understand why you guys dont sign your name. Im sure your a whitetrash peckerwood though. It would make sense. Look, the problem is not the government. They are just doing their job. The problem is the punishment doesn't fit the crime at all. This should be a slap on the wrist. We need to change sentence guidelines. Gambling should be comparable to a speeding ticket. The fact that someone could get in this much trouble is mind blowing. 5th gambling offense, maybe.

People need to quit saying stuff about things they have no clue about. This report is ridiculous. They're trying to make him out to be some big time mobster when he's just a normal young guy. It's no different than someone holding a poker night in their own home or betting on a sports game with their pals. Is anyone busting those people? NO and I'll tell you why, it's because they aren't Italian. This is racial profiling at it's best. Some prosecutor wants to show he's a big shot by busting the "mob". What a joke. A prison sentence of 2 years is what they give people for manslaughter. This not equal to manslaughter in my opinion. The federal court needs to quit wasting our time with this nonsense and actual do something worthwhile.

This company in Costa Rica doesn't do anything but take the calls and calulates the wagers. Mr. Badalucco pays the company a few thousand a month for their service, but HE'S responsible for collecting/paying out. I'm sure that's where the illegal activity is being called into play.
I believe it's now illegal to use a Credit Card for one of these off-shore accounts (a bill that was passed under the Bush 43's administration), otherwise all of this would have been taken care of on-line.
