Just in case we need to reiterate this -- and unfortunately we do, Raymore-Peculiar High School students -- giving nooses to African-Americans is still wrong.
A Ray-Pec High student gave a 14-year-old black student a noose. KCTV 5 reports that the school is looking into whether it was a stupid, stupid joke or a threat. Either way, the black student's parents aren't happy.
Donald and Sarah Washington recounted how the exchange between their son and the other kid went.
"He said, 'It's a noose,' and my son said 'Well, why wouldI want that,' and the boy said, 'I don't know, I think you might want
it,'" parent Sarah Washington said.
...
"It doesn't matter if they don't think it's a big deal, if my son would
have retaliated or hit someone it would have been totally different,"
parent Donald Washington said. "They would have thought it's a big deal
then."
The Washingtons' son didn't want the noose, and took it to the principal's office. Ray-Pec Superintendent Jeff Kyle told KCTV that what was given to the
student could be called a noose, but it was small and couldn't have
hurt anyone.
The Washingtons told KCTV 5 that two students were given three-day, in-house suspensions.

We have gone from one extreme to another extreme in dealing with racial issues in RayPec.
It is pretty bad when a white 4th grade teacher is fired for a false accusation from a black 4th grade student!!! I would call it reverse discrimination...
good point, Double-U-Tee-Eff. try that "it's too small to hurt someone" defense next time a small-dick guy says he;'s going to rape someone.
This is not the first racial incident to happen in the Ray-Pec school district and it won't be the last. They are constantly sweeping things under the rug. When the superintendent feels the need to call every minority out of class, without parent permission, to talk about the racial issues; there is a problem. I got sick of dealing with the issues, so I moved my kids away from that environment.
Ray-Pec has an air of thinking they are better than any one else.
I don't blame them for being angry and if it was indeed to represent a noose then it is most definitely inappropriate. I'd like to see a picture of it in scale, next to something else to see what the size actually is.
No child should be ridiculed or intimated at school.
Thing is if this turns into a lawsuit for money then to me it throws the whole thing under a new light. It's not like he was physically hurt.
I'm not minimizing how wrong it is to do something that makes another feel unwanted or even hated because I've been there myself. but i just hope this doesn't turn into a money thing.

How can a school superintendent be so ignorant? If the student tied a small noose he obviously has the skills necessary to tie a normal-sized one.
