The trial of Israel Mireles, the man charged with capital murder in the death of Emily Sander (known in Internet porn circles as Zoey
Zane) is set to resume.
Yesterday, the gory details of Sander's death were revealed.
The Wichita
Eagle reports that Sander was stabbed twice in the chest and
strangled with a telephone cord -- and any of those wounds could have
been fatal, according to testimony from Sedgwick County coroner Jaime Oeberst. In
addition, Oeberst testified that a muscle near Sander's temple
was "pulverized" and her body had "pattern injuries" that were
"consistent with being struck by a beer bottle."
Also Wednesday, a KBI agent testified that he found bloody clothing, a
knife car keys and a beer bottle in a garbage can outside of Mireles'
girlfriend's house in Baxter Springs.
Mireles' pregnant girlfriend, Victoria Martens, testified that
Mireles called her on the night in question and claimed that he had been in a fight with a man. Martens said Mireles met her at her grandmother's house,
and after a sleeping for a while, the couple drove to Vernon, Texas, and
ultimately went to Mexico.
In Mexico, Martens testified that he heard about Sander's death on the
news. The Eagle reports that Martens told the court that Mireles admitted that he knew Sander, but "assured me he was innocent."
this week, Mireles' defense attorney maintained that her client is
innocent, panicked when he found Sander inside the blood-soaked motel
room, packed up her body and bolted. Mireles' claim was that he was
partying with Sander, and the couple returned to his motel room where
they had sex. Then a man showed up and fought with Mireles, who left to
cool off. When he returned,
he found Sander dead.
Authorities found Sander's body in a ditch
off U.S. 54 about 53 miles outside of El Dorado.
Mireles is charged with capital murder, rape and aggravated sodomy.

The guy should have received the death penalty.
He does not deserve to live.
It is a shame that hard working tax dollars will pay for his prison time.

I am glad they got this creep, I found out about this missing person by looking up images and came across this missing person by accident and then by just typing in her name, I find out that she's been murdered, what a tragedy! I am glad she finally gets justice and I hope and pray that all victims get their justice one day.
