U.S. Sen. Kit Bond's tortured logic on who gets Mirandized was on full display during last night's Countdown with Keith Olbermann. According to Bond, reading "shoe bomber" Richard Reid his Miranda rights is fine, but reading them to suspected "crotch bomber" Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab is not cool.

Bond is calling for the resignation of John Brennan, a special assistant to the president for counterterrorism, over Abdulmutallab getting read his rights.
