A "source" told the told the Lawrence Journal-World that the University of Texas has had "preliminary exchanges" with the the Big Ten.
We've all heard about Missouri's interest and the rumors about Pitt, but nabbing Texas would be huge (although Texas already gets the lion's share of Big 12 dollars).
H/t to ESPN's Big 12 Blog.

I'd be shocked if they left. But they could always schedule Oklahoma in the non-conference schedule, I guess. Just don't see them leaving.
Texas is stupid if they do this, no way do schools like Michigan and Ohio State allow Texas to dominate the money like the Big 12 allows.
However, the people that run the Big 12 are complete idiots.
I doubt Texas is considering a move. I'm sure the Big 10 asked them, and then Texas said sure, just give us this. The Big 10 never will because they won't hand one school a larger stack of cash than the other schools like the Big 12 does with Texas. Texas would also be throwing away numerous in-state rivalries in exchange for what would be some awful travel expenses.
How jacked up is the Big 12 when TEXAS--which is by far the best-compensated school in the conference--is considering a move?
