An unidentified man was killed Thursday shortly after 5 p.m. when he was shot by KCK police.
According to police reports, KCK narcotics officers were on duty when they saw two cars engaged in a rolling gunbattle at the 2900 block of Parallel Parkway. Officers and federal agents chased the cars more than 2 miles east to 10th Street. The car then stopped, and a man came out and pointed his gun towards police. The police then shot and killed him.
A second man was found in the car, injured from the previous gunbattle, and was taken to the hospital where he is expected to recover. Police later stopped a second car allegedly connected to the gunfight at 10th Street and Freeman, arresting two men and taking one weapon.
