Matthew A. Johnston's skeletal remains found in Blue Summit

The Jackson County Sheriff's Office says the human skeletal remains found in a wooded area earlier this week belong to 33-year-old Matthew A. Johnston.

A citizen found the bones on Tuesday in the woods northwest of 18th Street and Sedweek in Blue Summit.

The Jackson County Medical Examiner's Office positively ID'ed the remains.

However, the cause of death has not yet been determined and the case is still being investigated.
