KC wins rights to 16-year-old ... not as creepy as it sounds

"KC wins rights to 16-year-old" read an eye-catching Associated Press headline. Don't call the U.S. Attorney just yet. To clarify, the Kansas City Wizards won a lottery for the the rights to midfielder Luis Gil, a Garden Grove, California native who plays for the

U.S. U-17 National Team. The Wizards' press release says Gil is

"considered by many to be one of the premier up-and-coming talents in

the United States."

But alas, the AP says KC may have to trade its 16-year-old soccer player so he can play closer to his California home. We hardly got to know him ... except for U.S.Soccer.com's video interview with him (after the jump).
