The editorial content in some fashion magazines can be summed up in one word: painful. I'm done wading through obnoxious reaches for alliteration like, "Flirty fall frocks!" "Shimmery spring skirts!" Bring me a bloody barf bag.

WearHaus' Carmen Stalker and photographer Jeff Evrard are cutting to the chase. Tonight, they're showing off their latest collaboration: a wordless, bi-monthly zine called Faction.

"We're treating it as an organic project," says Stalker. "We wanted to start it and just see where it goes. It could turn out to be something much bigger than we planned. For right now, we are treating it as a creative zine that is really fun to work on and we hope people will want to contribute to it with us. We want it to be an outlet for everyone."

Evrard's career began in the '90s, when he photographed skateboarders and shot skate videos. He took the photos for Wearhaus' funky, colorful ads.

Online Faction content is forthcoming, Stalker says. "We thought it would be interesting to blog about some of the photos and the shoots."

Faction's free release party is tonight at Crosstown Station, 1522 McGee, from 6 to 9 p.m. The event is 21 and older.

I am a self confessed shoe freak! i have more than 500 pairs, even though i have worn less than half of them, i still pursue on my crusade to find that perfect shoe, problem is, i nearly always think it's the perfect pair at the time of purchase, but the high quickly fades once i get my credit card bill! i commend you on your "Faction fashion zine launches Wednesday night: Clothes Whores - Kansas City News - Plog" page. It gave a true fashion junkie the perfect fix!
