Former Missouri Speaker of the House Rod Jetton will stand trial on charges that he assaulted a woman during a sexual encounter last November.
The Southeast Missourian reported that the 42-year-old Jetton and his accuser, who the newspaper refers to by name, appeared in court for the first time on felony assault charges.
Prosecutors showed 14 photos of bruises on the woman's face, neck and
thigh that they claimed were caused by Jetton on November 15, the Southeast
Missourian reported.
Jetton's accuser testified that she feared for her life during the alleged attack. She claimed she still suffers pain in her jaw, has trouble chewing
and talking and has started seeing an orthodontist.
Jetton's accuser reportedly testified that the alleged attack occurred
after Jetton dropped by her home with a bottle of wine. She claimed that
she became "very fuzzy" after drinking a glass of wine and Jetton
allegedly "tried to pull her pants off." She testified that she resisted
him and told him no, and Jetton allegedly started hitting her.
"I remember just being in a struggle and trying to get my hands free,"The woman claimed she went in and out of consciousness, and the third time she came to, she claimed her hands were bound with a belt and Jetton was having sex with her. But the photos didn't show bruising on the woman's wrists, the Southeast[she] said. "I remember coming to again and he was choking me. I
couldn't scream ... I couldn't reach him to get off of me."
Missourian reported.
According to another report, Jetton allegedly required the victim to refer to him as "sir" during the alleged attack.
The hearing also revealed Jetton's history with his accuser. They were classmates in Charleston, Missouri, and reconnected on Facebook months before the alleged attack, the Southeast
Missourian reported.
The Kansas City Star reported this morning that:
She initially contacted Jetton because of her affiliation with the Rape, Abuse and Incest National Network, and talked with him about legislative efforts in Missouri on behalf of victims of sexual abuse.
The relationship started out as "professional" but evolved as they
talked on the phone and texted each other. The woman admitted some of
the talks "were sexual in nature," the Southeast
Missourian reported.
"We definitely flirted a lot onBut the woman testified that she never wanted Jetton tothe phone," [she] said.
hit her.
However, the woman did admit that she and Jetton had"Did you text 'I'm disobedient and you may have to punish me' to Mr.
Jetton?'" [Jetton's defense attorney Stephen]
Wilson Wilson asked [the woman]. "Did you say 'If it's not
rough, it
isn't fun'?"
[The woman] said while their text messages were playful and theytalked about sex, she didn't text those words exactly.
"I recall talking how we were going to pleasure each other. I didn't
know he'd like it rough," [she] said.
establishing the safe word "green balloons" to use while engaged in sex
-- prior to November 15.
Jetton's accuser testified that she was
frightened the day after the alleged attack and recalled Jetton telling
her, "You should have said green balloons."
Jetton's next hearing
in Scott County court is scheduled for March 10.
Earlier this
month, the SEMO Times reviewed court documents filed by and
against Jetton's accuser in a story titled "Was
Justice Blind?"
The SEMO Times found that the
Missouri Highway Patrol initially recommended that rape and assault
charges be filed against Jetton. However, the SEMO Times reported
that after initially claiming she was raped, Jetton's accused changed
"her story after investigators reviewed the text messages she exchanged
with Jetton earlier in the day."
The SEMO Times also found
prior reports of sexual abuse by the woman, who accused her grandfather
and two uncles of sexually abusing her in her youth. She later dropped
the charges against her relatives.
Jetton's accuser also filed
for restraining orders against her husband in June and August of last
year. In one instance, the woman claimed that her husband, who she is
separated from, entered her bedroom and tried to force her to have sex
with him. In both cases, the SEMO Times found that the woman
dropped her requests for restraining orders.
Finally, in divorce
records between the woman and her husband, the SEMO Times found
a filing by the husband seeking full custody of their children because
his ex "suffers from various and sundry mental diseases and defects" and
"is at risk of exposing the minor children to inappropriate behavior on
her part and that of men with whom she continues to have casual sexual
relationships with."

dont know if you have seen this article or not....there are really digging into her pass...
So it sounds like "Big Rod" Jetton is a sexual deviant, but a really fun guy. Hey, let's all invite him over for dinner with a bottle of his special wine and play a game with a bottle of massage oil, a Twister mat and green balloons. And videotape it for X-Tube! And then let's vote for him for a congressional seat in Kansas!
So it sounds like Rod Jetton is a sexual deviant, but not a rapist. I hope that the charges are dropped against him and she gets charged with falsely reporting a crime and anything else that they can think up.
