Abandon all hope if you have to drive on any of these intersections, which pretty much means all of you. Police Chief Jim Corwin released Kansas City's top 20 crash sites of 2009. Topping the charts -- and, really, it wasn't close -- Interstate 435 and Interstate 70 with 107 crashes.
Unfortunately, I know too much about No. 5 on the list -- 5th and Broadway -- after being rear-ended by a hit-and-run driver there. The full list after the jump.

Better info would be:
a) accidents as a ratio of traffic volume
b) accidents broken down - injury vs fender-bender.
Total numbers are pretty meaningless as data. It's like saying McDonald's is the most popular burger place b/c they sell the most.
People turning right onto the Broadway Bridge from 5th street aren't turning right on red. They are running a red light through an intersection. I've almost been hit 3 times in the last month or so from people sailing through the red light as if there isn't a street (Broadway) before the bridge. Why this is allowed is beyond me.

Skip Sleyster was right.
