Manifesto speakeasy is going on hiatus

Posted by Justin Kendall on Wed, Mar 3, 2010 at 4:33 PM

A couple of messages posted on Manifesto's Facebook page makes it clear that the speakeasy at 1924 Main won't be open for a while.

Check out the posts from this afternoon and last night:

This comes just a few short weeks after Esquire called Manifesto "an excellent modern speakeasy"  and the closing of chef Rob Dalzell's signature restaurant 1924 Main, which shared the same address but different ownership and was shut down last month.

I drive from Des Moines to visit there and wish every city had a chill place like that. Where you can enjoy the creativity of your beverage rather than see how quickly you can get it down. I hope it opens again.
