  • Mark Johnson (pictured) told police that his brother, Joseph Johnson III, shot Lisa McGuire last November.

The body of Lisa M. McGuire was found outside of an apartment complex in the 3713 Roberts on November 16, 2009.

Yesterday, prosecutors charged brothers Joseph D. Johnson III,23, and Mark Johnson (aka Markus Patterson), 27, with murder (Joseph with first-degree murder and Mark with second-degree murder) in the death of 27-year-old McGuire. The brothers are also charged with armed criminal action.

A witness told police that the Johnson brothers came into his home on the date of McGuire's homicide and told him "to stay in his mother fucking bed." The witness overheard Joseph Johnson III on the phone with McGuire, telling her to bring him his money. A little while later, the witness heard a fight, a gunshot and Joseph Johnson yelling "let's get the hell out of here."

The witness went upstairs and found a blood-covered broken window. Outside, the witness could see McGuire lying on the ground below.

Another witness told police that McGuire owed money to Mark Johnson.

Another

witness told police that she was forced her to watch the Johnsons

question McGuire. They didn't just question her. Joseph Johnson punched

and kicked McGuire and told the witness to go downstairs. By the time

she got downstairs, she heard a gunshot and glass breaking and then saw

Joseph Johnson running downstairs yelling "Let's go. Let's go now,"

with the other suspect.

Mark Johnson told police that he went with his brother to the home. During

the beating, Johnson demanded the second suspect give him a chrome

handgun that was in his waistband. Then, Joseph Johnson allegedly shot McGuire

in the head and she fell out the window.

KCTV 5 also reports that Joseph Johnson III was charged with the death of Amber Telford Kahn, who was found shot to death at 11th and Van Brunt.
