Stumbled upon the GoogleKC press conference in the Power & Light District's living room, and you can't blame the handful of local politicos and shakers for using the the Big 12 Fan Fest as a backdrop for their pitch to be the test site for Google's one gigabyte, high-speed broadband Internet.

A handful of City Council members (Russ "Hot Legs" Johnson, Cindy Circo, Terry Riley and Melba Curls) were there with about 15 other people, waving GoogleKC signs and meekly woo-hooing every time someone finished a speech.

Riley looked like he was nodding off.

Nope. He's awake.

Some prankster stuck a GoogleKC sticker

on this guy's back.

Hope that sticker doesn't turn into a "kick me"

sign.
