Breaking news from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. The kids are doing the drugs.
The U-News' non-scientific survey found 200 of the highest students on campus. Way to go Kangaroos! You beat the national average! Just click the chart to see.
Marijuana and prescription drugs are UMKC's the drugs of choice (81 percent admitted smoking up), but they also like the nose candy and 'shrooms.
A junior named "Sarah" explained to the U-News why the hard drugs are so popular.
"Smoking weed's just coasting. It's nice, but there are more fun things to do."
Fun with coke and 'shrooms apparently, but Sarah just says no to heroin.
"I'll leave the needles to the nurses," she said.
Speaking of nurses, four of the 22 nursing students polled admitted shooting heroin.
The article also has a nice advertisements for Tomfooleries.
"There'sUnfortunately, the student hasn't seen drug dealingthis guy who used to come into Tomfoolerie's and give out little things
of coke and weed," said one student. "He said, 'If you like it now you
know where to get it.'"
Willy Wonka at the bar lately.
This all comes at a time when Missouri lawmakers are worried about fake marijuana. The Missouri House just gave preliminary approval to a bill (H.B. 1472)
that would criminalize the chemicals that get you high in K2 and outlaw
synthetic pot's possession and sale statewide.
The
bill just needs a second House vote before going to the Senate, where
lawmakers appear ready to ban. K2 is already banned in two Missouri
counties -- Pettis and St. Charles -- and in Kansas.
"I think it's very important that we do what we can to protect our
children and protect the parents of our state that are seeing this
brought into their homes and can't do anything about it," Rep. Ward Franz told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
Yes, it's all about the children. And the children are already doing harder drugs. Just ask the students at UMKC.

Let's say that 20 random people are asked the question "Have you ever smoked a cigarette?" and 19 answered "yes". Shall we conclude that 19 out of 20 people are actually smoking?
Wow, sounds like a good place to be!
