Man fatally shot at 57th and Highland: Killa City homicide 33

Kansas City police are investigating a second homicide from overnight after a man died after getting shot in the 5700 block of Highland around 12:42 a.m.


The shooting victim was taken to a local hospital where he died several hours later.

Kansas City, Missouri's homicide total is now at 18 for 2010.

DEar Pitch: Thanks, as always, for keeping the city's citizens up to speed on the homicide count. With all of the attention focused on the Waldo rapist and with people continuing to die at an alarming rate in KCMO, I have a "fearless prediction": Any day now the "Unholy Alliance" of the Concerned Clergy Coalition and the city's convention industry will again force the KCPD to release one of those ridiculous "despite all the stories in the news crime actually is down sharply in KCMO in the past two years" statements.
