1. Waterslide your way through a Guinness World Record. By way of introducing the new Triple Twist Slide, Great Wolf Lodge is making a a 24-hour, multi-venue attempt to break a watersliding record, starting at 5 p.m. today. You don't have to be a guest to participate, but you do have to interact with children. Wheee!

2. Take advantage of one Lawrence's cultural perks -- the existence of Haskell Indian Nations University. Stories 'N Motion, A two-day festival of movies about the American Indian experience, including some local student films, starts tonight at Haskell Auditorium.

3. Indulge your geeky side. The Planet Comicon convention brings superheroes and their rabid fans to the Overland Park International Trade Center all day Saturday and Sunday.

4. Root on the Roller Warriors. Kansas City's successful roller derby team wheels into a new season of rink roughness with a Saturday night match.

5. Contribute more money to the Kansas City AIDSWalk. This time of year is chock full of red ribbons and activities meant to raise awareness and dollars for the fight against HIV/AIDS. On Sunday, the effort continues with Gypsies, Tramps and Queens -- a movie night/variety show presented by local drag celebrity Daisy Bucket.
