  • David Buie pleaded guilty to possessing a whole lot of child porn.

David Buie was on the Hickman Mills school board when he was downloading hundreds of pics of child pornography.

Buie, 55, pleaded guilty in federal court Wednesday morning to possessing between 300 and 600 images of child porn -- many of them showing children younger than 12 being sexually abused.

Just days before the FBI began its investigation, Buie resigned from his

position from the KC Parks and Recreation Department. And following the

2008 bust, he ended his school board re-election campaign. He was also a former member of the Metropolitan Community College Board of Trustees.

A computer technician tipped off the FBI after discovering child porn on Buie's computer on March 24, 2008.

Buie faces up to 10 years in federal prison without parole, a fine of up to $250,000 and an order of restitution to the victims of sexual abuse.

A sentencing hearing has not been scheduled.
