Update: Fred Phelps can stop waiting by the mailbox for a check from the father of a Marine killed in Iraq whose funeral was picketed by Phelps and his congregation.
Albert Snyder sued Phelps and his Westboro Baptist Church and won a $5 million verdict. But it was overturned on appeal.
An appeals court says Snyder owes Phelps $16,510 for court costs. But Snyder told Fox News yesterday that he's not going to pay Phelps anything.
"I don't think I'm going to be writing a check until I hear from the Supreme Court," Snyder told Fox News on Tuesday. "I'm not about to pay them anything."

Score a victory for homophobic preacher man Fred Phelps.
Albert
Snyder, the father of a Marine killed in Iraq, sued Phelps and the
Westboro Baptist Church for picketing his son's funeral.
Snyder
had won a $5 million verdict. But the judgment was overturned by
Maryland's Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, which has order
Snyder to pay
Phelps and his church $16,510 in court costs.
Earlier this year, the U.S. Supreme Court agreed to determine whether the First Amendment protects Phelps' speech.
Snyder's attorney is telling reporters that his client may have to give up property or wages if he can't pay up.
