Update: Forty-four bids later, the "Famous Royals Express" sold for $3,700.03. To the winner, it'll cost a lot more than that to get the taint of all these bad seasons off the bus. Best of luck with that (and can we get a ride?).

Royals fans, the "Famous Royals Express" could be yours if you have a couple thousand bucks.
The 1989 bus -- with just 638,400 overall miles! -- is listed on eBay, and so far, nine bids have moved the price to $2,100.
The Area Transportation Authority parked the Royals Express (and a Chiefs bus) last year due to budget
cuts. The buses were losing riders and bleeding money as the the losing seasons piled up.
Here's what you'd get:
This 1989 TMC RTS-06 Rapid Transit System bus has faithfullyserved the Kansas City area since new, most recently as the Royals
Express to Kauffman Stadium -- probably why the interior looks a bit
nicer than many this age. The engine has 50,189 miles on it while the
automatic transmission have only 38,738 miles on it. Typical features of
the T802 include tilt steering wheel, A/C, fiberglass seats w/cloth
inserts, sliding glass windows, and seating for 37 + 2 wheelchairs. Bus
includes wheelchair lift that is not working at present.
Better hurry. Only four days left to bid.
